ROLE DESCRIPTION

POSITION SUMMARY:Houston Dynamo FC is seeking candidates for the position of U13 Academy Head Coach to lead player development and programming for the academy’s aspiring talents. This position will head coach one team within the Academy while actively collaborating with the full academy staff and pathway to support the individual player and collective team development. This important role will include being part of a team of developers who are highly motivated to continually improve player development initiatives. DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES:Ensure players demonstrate our values of accountability, pursuit of excellence, respect, and team firstExpertly plan and execute all U13 training and video review sessionsProfessionally manage all U13 matches ensuring players clearly display understanding of training concepts and a competitive mentality at all timesFocus on individual development of high potential professional prospects through individual planning, goal setting, match planning, training focus and meetingsManage individual player reports and track progress through effective periodization and planningCollaborate with Academy General Manager on high potential player developmentCommunicate with the Academy Admin and Academy Coordinator to ensure a well-organized and professional daily environment, both in Houston and during all travel  Collaborate with Academy Performance Coach to optimize training and match volumeSupport the Player Care Coordinator to ensure commitment to player education and well-beingCommunicate with Academy Talent ID Coordinator to actively support player identificationSupport academy coaches and staff at all times throughout the season QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:Minimum of 5 years coaching within an MLS, UEFA or other professional club preferredUSSF A, UEFA A, or CONMEBOL A coaching license requiredBachelor’s degree requiredBilingual proficiency is preferredProfessional playing experience preferredKnowledge of Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Word, and ExcelExperience using game analysis software (Sports Code / HUDL)SKILLS, ABILITIES OTHER ATTRIBUTES: Passion for holistically developing young student-athletesExperience in developing young professional soccer playersStrong leadership and organizational skillsStrong communication skills and the ability to work with others.Versatile and agile, able to respond effectively within a dynamic field.Ability to exercise sound judgement and discretion.We are an equal opportunity employer.
