These characteristics define the team's culture, and the team's employees must also embody these traits.PurposeThe St. Louis CITY SC Academy Talent ID Lead is responsible for supporting the Academy Director identifying, building relationships with, and recruiting players from all parts of the St. Louis region. The Academy Talent ID Lead will strive to achieve the highest level of success by embracing and shepherding a culture of excellence, that provides a life enriching experience and seeks to develop a complete player on and off the field.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop Positional Profiles: in association with the Director of Coaching and Academy DirectorAssist in Academy Team(s) Formation and SelectionAssess team needsScout relevant age groupsOrganize and carryout tryouts for relevant age groups, including U14 Pathway ProgramIdentify players from non-traditional locations/clubsIdentify and establish Homestay families for 2-3 players per team (U16 + U17)Develop and Build-Out a Comprehensive + Robust Domestic Talent ID Network ProgramBuild-Out Comprehensive College Placement ProgrammingConduct individual "Choose it Right Updates" player-parent meetingsConduct informational meetings for players-parents with panels of college coachesDevelop + maintain relationships with college coaches across the USDevelop and maintain a functional databaseManage + direct communications with college coachesCommunicate + update re rosters and game schedulesManage college selection + placement communications + announcementsManage incoming, interested player inquiries, including responding to all inbound inquiries, review player videos, and assess for potential trial invitation(s)Other Duties:Performing such other duties consistent with the employment as Academy Talent ID Lead that may from time to time be reasonably determined as assigned to by Academy Director.Qualifications:At least 5 years of coaching and/or talent identification (scouting) experienceStrong recruiting backgroundAbility to plan, analyze, and carry out strategic plansAbility to exercise sound judgement and discretionEnglish/Spanish is preferred but not requiredExcels in using video editing software and collecting data through such platforms as Wyscout, Hudl, Sportscode, Coachpaint, Opta, and Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and OutlookSkills and AbilitiesStrong knowledge of soccer tactics, sport science and multidisciplinary developmentProven ability to work in a team-oriented environmentHigh ability to work with and guide a teamExpert knowledge to identify, develop and support soccer talentSet and maintain a high standard of work performance, delivering quality consistently and effectivelyAccurate, efficient, and timely execution of tasks and able to be flexible and resourceful in response to changing priorities and needsExcellent facilitation skills, including the ability to manage and resolve tensions, disputes and conflictsDetail oriented and organized with effective time management and prioritization skillsMust be able to work evenings, weekends, events, and holidays as requiredA motivated growth-mindset and life-long learnerPassionate, positive, and pro-active about player developmentA strong work-ethic and ability to plan and reflect on trainings and matchesDetail-oriented, analytical, and attentive to the nuances of player developmentVersatility that combines practical on-field experiences and off-field planningInnovativeness and adaptability to stay at the leading edge of player developmentCooperative spirit, pro-active collaboratorStrong communication skillsAbility to work well in a dynamic and professional environmentIntrinsically motivated to progress within the clubDesire to continue with coaching education and qualificationsPhysical EffortThis position will require talking, listening, standing, and physical activity for long periods of time.Out-of-Office ResponsibilitiesMust be able to work evenings, weekends, events, and holidays as required.
