A vacancy has arisen within the Academy Medical Department for a CasualAcademy Physiotherapist, based at the Carrington Training Complex based in Carrington, Manchester. This is a casual post, and as suchhours available will varydependent on the demands of the business. Flexibility is thereforeessential, and candidates will need to be able to work evenings and weekends as required.There may be opportunities to progress to more permanent hours in the future.The successful candidate will provide first class professional physiotherapy support to the players of the U9-16 Academy teams.They will also assist other medical staff as required.The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key skills and experience:-CSP and HCPC membership, with post qualification experience (Band 6 or above, preferably including some Band 5 rotational experience within a general hospital setting).- Experience in sports injury management, including youth sport is desirable.- A higher degree in a relevant subject or equivalent is advantageous.- A first aid qualification is desirable but not essential as training will be provided. We expect to place staff holding this role on an FA Advanced Trauma and Medical Emergencies in Football (ATMMIF) course.- An abilityto work to high professional standards, whilst maintaining strict levels of confidentiality and discretion.- An ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a wider Physiotherapy team.- Given the nature of the role an awareness of safeguarding practices and procedures is essential, but training will be provided in this area as standard.- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.Due to this post being in regulated activity, the potential employee will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check at the appropriate level.
