The New York Red Bulls offer one of the nation's premier youth soccer development programs, from local soccer partnerships across New York and New Jersey to Regional Development Schools and the Red Bulls Academy teams.
Purpose of this JobWe ask that you be a dynamic, self-motivated, organized, energetic and creative physical therapist with a working experience in either collegiate, soccer academy, minor league and/or professional sports. The Academy Physical Therapist and Strength Coach will be primarily responsible for the rehabilitation and reconditioning of RBNY Academy Players. Under the guidance of the Head of Soccer Medicine and Performance, the Physical Therapist will coordinate rehabilitation, evaluations, plan of care, progress notes, and discharge notes on all Academy players. You will work full-time.
Areas that play to your strengths· Perform physical therapy services for the Academy's Players under the guide of the Head of Soccer Medicine and Performance· Help implement training programs developed for players' performance and reduce injuries at the academy level appropriate for player relative age· Maintain a complete and up-to-date physical therapy record· Develop fitness standards for each age group with input from academy strength coach· Guide strength and fitness training sessions with players coming back from injury· Be integrated to first team and second team strength and conditioning coaches and medical staffs to understand the needs of a New York Red Bull player per position
Your areas of expertise that matter most for this role:Requirements:· Doctor of Physical Therapy· Bachelor's in Exercise Science related field· CSCS (NSCA) Certification· Minimum two years' coaching and treating athletes in physical therapy in a sport specific setting or elite sports· CPR certification for health care providers· Have personal professional liability insurance· Active, license or able to apply for New Jersey based license where the Club has home matches and trainsPreferred:· Master's in Exercise Science related field· Experience leading sports science initiatives such as GPS, heart rate monitoring, RPE, etc· SCS or OCS· Experience with functional movement screenings (FMS, SMFA, Y-Balance, etc)· Manual therapy certifications (CMT, FAAOMPT, etc)· Candidate has a minimum of 2 years' experience as a strength and conditioning coach in a college, academy or professional setting.· Experience leading sport science projects such as GPS monitoring· Have an excellent knowledge of Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets)
Because of the cyclical nature of the entertainment industry, you may be asked to work varying schedules to reflect our needs (includes nights and weekends).
