Internship Summary:D.C. United is a professional soccer club based in Washington, D.C. The club competes as a member of the Eastern Conference in Major League Soccer.
As an Academy Media Intern for D.C. United, you’ll have the opportunity to learn from the Academy Director, Academy Administrator, Digital Marketing Manager, and coaching staff. Selected intern will learn all aspects of the Academy’s media channels and help with marketing activities.
The Spring MLS Next season runs from March through July.
This internship is unpaid, and the candidate must be eligible to receive college credit.
Intern Projects may include:
Media coverage of DC United Academy
Assist with content management/creation of social media, digital channels, and website
Capture real-time photo/video content at Academy training, matches, and community events
Through these tasks the candidate can expect to learn about:
The end-to-end functioning of an Academy media team- including digital and social media planning, communications strategy, and event management.
Working experience running social media accounts
Introductory knowledge of video shooting/editing
The day-to-day operations of a soccer Academy of an official MLS club.
Pursuing a college degree, preferably in Sports Business/Management and/or Marketing
Eligible to receive college credit for internship
Dedicate at least 20 hours a week to the internship from March through July
Must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19
Basic knowledge of photography
Must demonstrate a high level of detail-orientation, especially under deadline pressure
Must display organization and communicative skills
Must demonstrate strong professional attitude
Must be able to maintain confidentiality and use upmost discretion when privy to sensitive information
