Role description
Salary: Local Grade 4
An exciting opportunity has become available within the Academy at Milton Keynes Dons Football Club. We are looking to recruit a Head of Education and Safeguarding to be a part of a forward-thinking team, responsible for providing leadership and management of the academy education and safeguarding department in pursuit of maximising the academic performance of all academy players within a safe environment.
You will play a key role in organising the delivery of the education programme across all age groups, ensuring the provision reflects the strategy and performance targets set out in the club Academy Performance Plan. In addition, you will ensure scholars are appropriately supported in respect of the Scholar Education Programme (SEP) Apprenticeship, and support the delivery of a comprehensive Life Skills and Personal Development Programme.
You will also have a lead role for the Club in ensuring that the Safeguarding Policies of the Club are implemented, monitored and evaluated. You will play an active part from a wellbeing perspective, supporting the transition of players arriving and departing, working closely with the Player Care Officer.
The successful candidate will enjoy working as part of a team, be enthusiastic, hardworking, and be flexible to the requirements of the position and the business. Applicants should ideally live local to Milton Keynes or the surrounding areas and be a UK resident or non-UK resident with a valid UK work permit.
Essential criteria for the role include:
BEd, BA, or BSc degree or equivalent.
QTS/QTLS teaching qualification
Teaching experience at secondary/higher education or equivalent
Effective planning, organisational and implementation skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and schedules to meet strategic objectives/timescales
Knowledge of the OFSTED inspection framework including safeguarding and wellbeing provisions and thresholds
Knowledge and experience of the Apprenticeship assessment process
