Wigan Athletic Football Club is looking to recruit an Academy Education Assistant on a part-time basis to support and manage the operational and education elements of both the hybrid training model and SEP apprenticeship
The successful candidate will report directly to the Head of Education and Welfare and be predominately based at Stadium Way Academy Training Facility.
Plan, Deliver, Assess all SEP units – two cohorts (total 6 hrs per week) – in a timely manner and in accordance with the LFE Curriculum Plan
Develop all learners English and Maths skills
Complete all SEP Reviews in a timely manner
Prepare all apprentices for Gateway and End Point Assessment (EPA)
Manage all areas of the LFE EMS related to the SEP programme
Attend all LFE SEP Training and Development (CPD) sessions
Liaise with and support all multi-disciplinary staff where applicable
Contribute to all PMA Reviews in a timely manner
Hybrid Training Model:
Liaison with all HTM Schools & Parents
Coordinate HTM meetings, inductions, and reviews with players, parents, staff, and schools
Prepare and update all HTM Agreements
Track and monitor the education performance of all HTM participants
Analyse the education performance of all HTM participants
Oversee the delivery of the Compensatory Education programme; with a focus on English, Maths, and GCSEs
Meet all appropriate EPPP Safe to Operate and Standards requirements
Communicate with all HTM multi-disciplinary staff
Coordinate and support the HTM Education staff (Tuesdays and Thursday)
Coordinate and support the HTM Transport staff (Tuesday & Thursday)
Plan and deliver Life-Skills sessions
Develop and implement new initiatives to strengthen the HTM programme
The successful candidate will have:
Good organisational and communication skills.
Confidentiality maintained in a commercially sensitive environment.
Outstanding knowledge of professional football club and education procedures.
Ability to understand and follow protocols
Proficient use of Microsoft word and excel [desirable].
A proven track record of recruiting players for professional Cat 1 and 2 football clubs [desirable]
