Job Description: ‘COACH’ Ages U11 and U12
Reporting to: Head of Childrens Programme / Head of Academy Coaching / Head of
Academy
Season 2023 -2024
Main Purpose of Post:
To deliver coaching activities at the club to players at ages 11 and 12
Main Duties
To deliver coaching sessions in accordance with Academy Philosophy and Vision as directed
by the Head of Childrens Programme & Head of Academy Coaching
In particular to deliver coaching sessions in conjunction with lead coach for Academy players
at ages 11 and 12. Coaches are expected to be present at a minimum of 2 coaching sessions
per week and to be available on match days.
To assist in maintaining a record of coaching sessions
To assist in maintaining a record of player attendance at coaching sessions
To provide in conjunction with lead coach a report on player performance and participation for
each match played and submit this on a weekly basis
To liaise with the Head of Academy Recruitment, the Head of Childrens Programme and the
Head of Academy Coaching regarding the inclusion of trialists in coaching and match squads
and to provide written feedback on trialist performance at the end of a trial period
To prepare 2 Player Progress Reports in conjunction with lead coach in June and December
of each season. This report will form the basis of discussion at a Player / Parent meeting. The
report will be created using the agreed Academy format.
To develop young players in accordance with Academy Vision and Philosophy and in
particular to promote;
healthy lifestyle, drug awareness and adherence to the Player Code of Conduct.
To liaise with support staff to ensure the needs of each individual player is being met.

Child Wellbeing
Coaching staff are required to sign an Academy Coaches Code of Conduct and familiarise
themselves with the Academy Child Wellbeing and Protection Policy.
Appointment will be determined on the candidate undergoing a satisfactory PVG Membership

Review and Appraisal
This Job Description will be subject to review on an annual basis by the Head of Childrens
Programme and Head of Academy Coaching
An Academy Coach will be subject to a performance appraisal on an annual basis
Qualifications
Minimum Childrens Award Childrens / Childrens Coaching Licence
Desirable Advanced Childrens Licence
Salary
Payment will be based on qualifications and experience
