Part time Youth Academy

RESPONSIBLE TO:
Youth Academy Director/Head of Coaching

RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Responsible for leading & supporting academy teams from U11s – 13s.

OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB:
To coach, develop, and educate our academy players through the delivery of training sessions & other educational platforms & through the planning & preparation of matchdays.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
SPECIFIC

Design, deliver, and reflect on coaching sessions for all age levels within the Academy.
Be versatile to adapt and change coaching sessions to suit a change in player training numbers.
Utilise modern teaching/coaching methods to assist in the development and progression of the players
Complete & submit all session plans, match reports and any other administrative tasks within the time frames that are requested by Academy management.
Plan and prepare coaching sessions in advance that are in line with the Academy curriculum and game model objectives.
Be planned and prepared in advance for match day including Kit, equipment, team lines, set pieces, team & Individual targets, liaise with Head of Phase regarding squad numbers and match day team selection, injuries etc.
Responsible for ongoing communication with all parents, players & trialists to make sure they are up to speed with meeting times, change of schedule & cancellations etc.
Responsible for laying out and putting away all training equipment required during training sessions & matches.
Liaise with Child Protection/Welfare Officer/Academy director in relation to any issues or concerns that may arise with any academy players or coaches.
Responsible for leaving pitch area and changing facilities clean and tidy after every session and match.
Assist in goal setting for the players and providing feedback to player and parents through review meetings and the players development plans. Supported by head of coaching & head of phase.
Provides feedback and information to academy management that contributes to the release or resigning of players.
Proficient in the use of modern technology to assist the following: design and submit session plans using a coaching session design software of their choice, liaise with players and parents through zoom, skype etc, deliver match day analysis and feedback to players through an analysis tool. Have a knowledge of sharing platforms i.e. google classrooms, Microsoft teams
Collaborate with the Sports Science & Medicine and Education & Welfare Department to ensure that the players technical & physical development & wellbeing are given equal accord in the holistic development of the player.
Responsible for self-development and taking part in internal & external CPD highlighted by Head of Coaching to assist you with your professional development.
GENERIC

To work as an integral member of the Club’s Academy in developing young players for the 1st team.
To project a professional image, always maintain an ambassadorial role for the club
Adhere to the club’s policies and protocols.
Participate in Performance Reviews
Carry out any other reasonable duties that may be requested by the football club including working with teams outside of your remit when required to do so.
Be a role model and promote the club/academy, promote good practice through professionalism and show respect towards players, staff & parents of both our academy and opposition.
