The club's academy are recruiting for an Academy & JTC Goalkeeping Coach.

Title: Academy & JTC Goalkeeping Coach (Casual)

Reports to: Billy Granger (Academy Head of Goalkeeping)

Location: Various (Academy Office, Canford Park Arena, Vitality Stadium, Other)

Contract Type: Casual Work

Hours: Weekday Evenings (Mon, Tue, Wed, Thur) and weekend daytime

Pay: Dependant on qualifications. Between £20-£40 per session, £40-£60 per double session/game.

Work closely with the Academy Head of Goalkeeping to ensure the continuous development of all academy goalkeepers.

Work closely with all members of the academy multidisciplinary team, in order to provide the goalkeepers with the strongest development programme possible.

Prepare and deliver age-appropriate training sessions, to an elite academy standard, to academy goalkeepers.

Arrive prior to scheduled training sessions in order to ensure adequate preparation, before the players have arrived.

Create a safe, positive learning environment, which allows player development to take place.

Maintain high professional standards, displaying high levels of professional behaviour and appearance at all times, whilst encouraging the same from all coaches and players.

Support goalkeepers on academy match days, overseeing the goalkeeper warmups and supporting within match play.

Record and review all sessions on the club’s player management system (PMA).

Assist in writing and delivering academy goalkeeper reviews (U9-U16).

Ensure footballs are pumped and relevant training equipment required is organised prior to delivering training sessions/warmups.

Ensure all training equipment is accounted for at the end of every session.

Undertake other duties when required, as directed by the Academy Manager, Academy Head of Coaching, Academy Head of Goalkeeping.

Undertake and attend continued professional development (CPD) events when required.

Work with the Academy Head of Goalkeeping to plan, deliver and evaluate coaching sessions in line with the academy’s philosophy, Goalkeeping development programme and coach competency framework.

Attend academy meetings when required.

Prepare and deliver age-appropriate training sessions to JTC Goalkeepers.

Liaise and communicate with Academy Head of Recruitment and other key staff in order to identify and assist in the recruitment of goalkeepers across all ages (U9-U23).

Be available to work on weekday evenings and weekends.

Be capable and open minded as to the benefits and positive outcomes of integration of goalkeepers with outfield practices.

Required Qualifications:

UEFA B Licence Goalkeeping

UEFA B Licence

Emergency First Aid in Football (EFAIF) / FA Safeguarding / Enhanced DBS Check


Excellent knowledge of goalkeeping and professional football.

Experience of working with academy level goalkeepers.

Passionate about goalkeeping and developing goalkeepers.

Ability to effectively work and communicate as part of a team.

Honest and trustworthy.

The ability to engage with players across a broad range of ages (U9-U23).

Ability to adapt under pressure.

Independence, the ability to solve problems. Willing to go the extra mile.

Approachable, welcoming personality.

High level IT and presentation skills.

Organised, methodical and logical approach to work.
