ROLE DESCRIPTION

Coventry City Football Club is in search of dedicated, passionate, and committed individuals (max
2) to become a part of their Performance Analysis team through a voluntary placement for the
entirety of the 2024/25 season (July to May). We are looking for MSc Sports Performance Analysis
students seeking a professional sports placement year. The chosen candidate will support and
collaborate with the Lead Academy Data Analyst, contributing across various academy age groups
from U9 to U21.
This exciting opportunity is crafted to cultivate individuals with a keen passion for performance
analysis, offering them invaluable experience in a top-tier sporting environment. The position aims to
enhance presentation skills, foster responsibility, and provide coaching exposure as individuals
evolve their skills and knowledge through our student placement Continuing Professional
Development (CPD) program.
Roles and Responsibilities:
· Filming academy homes fixtures on weekends and evening training sessions during the
week.
· Clipping and coding academy matches – gaining an insight on how analysis is used
throughout the age groups (U9-U21).
· To assist in the collection of data and presenting findings back to the relevant coaching
staff.
· To be involved and to gain an insight on pre-post-match analysis throughout the age
groups. Exposure to opposition analysis for the PDP teams (U18-21)
· Producing post-match statistical sheets and presentations for FP/YDP coaches.
· Other ad hoc duties.
Candidate Requirements:
· Previous experience using SportsCode, Hudl Studio & Hudl.
· This placement is ideally suited for individuals looking for a placement year which is a
requirement to complete a MSc Sports Performance Analysis (Applied) Degree.
· A minimum of 30 hours per week for 36 weeks to meet the requirements of a year in
industry.
· Willingness to be available for evening training sessions when required and a Saturday or
Sunday match-day.
· Live within a commutable distance of the Coventry area (approx. 60minutes, however all
applications will still be considered).
· Component in using Excel/Keynote for databasing information.
· Highly adaptable, self-motivated, and comfortable working to strict deadlines.
