TITLE: Player Care InternshipDEPARTMENT: Soccer OperationsREPORTS TO: Player Care, Team AdministratorsNOTES: Intern must be able to receive academic credit for this internshipINTERNSHIP SUMMARYInterns will have the opportunity to learn about the history, culture, and vision of Orlando CitySC, understanding the importance of how a professional sports organization works (whichcould include sales, marketing, public relations, operations, or the internal working of theClub), to further develop general critical thinking, problem-solving, time management,communication, and writing skills.WHAT SETS YOU APARTOrlando City SC is seeking hardworking, positive and passionate individuals who wish tosupplement their classroom instruction with practical experience facilitating in the operationof the Club’s overall team administration, operations, and player fulfillment. Selected internswill work under the close supervision of the Executive Staff, Team Administrators andEquipment Managers on a variety of critical activities in support of the Orlando City, OrlandoCity U23, and Orlando City Academy. Soccer Operations Interns will have the opportunity tosupplement classroom instruction and gain practical and valuable learning experiences.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:● Assist with coordinating all administrative functions involving player relocation andestablishment with the Club (1st Team, 2nd Team, Academy)● Learn how to assist with Player Relocation plan for each player and distribution offinalized “relocation plan” to key stakeholders● Collaborate with team staff during team training sessions, operations and events asneeded● Learn the process of player assistance, as well as their families on match days, andnormal day-to-day assistance● Provide assistance to staff with various administrative and operational tasks asneeded.● In addition to daily assignments, each student will have the opportunity to learn andbe involved with assignments in different areas of Team Operations● Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this internship successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essentialduty satisfactorily. The following requirements are representative of eligibility requirements,knowledge, skill, and/or ability necessary:● Applicants should be working towards an undergraduate or graduate degree with anemphasis in Sports Business, Management, etc.● Strong written and verbal skills.● Bilingual in English and Spanish/Portuguese preferred● Exceptional reliability, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skillsrequired.● An Innovative Individual who can come up with ideas and work extremely well within ateam to come up with creative solutions and identify new opportunities, often in ahigh-pressure, fast-changing environment.● Strong attention to small details is a must.● Able to work non-traditional hours, in non-traditional settings, within a teamatmosphere.● Strong knowledge of a wide variety of social media platforms.● Strong interest in soccer and sports is a plus.● A sense of humor is a must (prepare to tell us about a good joke in your interview).● Internship will be around 20-30 hours weekly.● Ability to be flexible with hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.Other Details:● Duration of internship depends on the applicant's ability to receive academic creditfor this opportunity.Disclaimer:This internship is intended to be an in-person learning opportunity, with the intern learningapproximately 20-30 hours in the facility per week, or as needed.
