ROLE DESCRIPTION

JOB DESCRIPTION
As a First Team Analyst at Luton Town, you will be an integral part of the Analysis department, contributing significantly to the creation of content through video, data, and Telestration. Your work will support the Coaching Team in preparing players for upcoming matches. This includes generating pre-match, live, and post-match analysis for both the team and individual players, helping to optimise performance throughout the season.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Understand the key principles and playing style of the club and coaching team.
Conduct thorough opposition analysis, identifying key trends in their structure, playing style, and overall performance, and provide video and documentation to relevant staff members.
Analyse and evaluate Luton Town post-match footage to create detailed reports on team and player performance, delivering key insights to the coaching and management team.
Support the post-match video process by animating post-match videos when required.
Collaborate with other department members to ensure weekly documentation of data related to both our team’s and opposition’s performance is readily available to the coaching team.
Travel with the First Team to home and away fixtures, providing real-time analysis during matches and offering valuable insights in fast-paced, pressurized environments.
Assist the set-piece and goalkeeping departments with research, video, and data from matches and training sessions throughout the season to support preparation and evaluation.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in football analysis techniques and technologies, and monitor trends in football.
Develop and maintain authentic and effective working relationships throughout the club.
Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the first team and academy squads.
Undertake specific analysis projects as required by the Head Coach and coaching team to support research and development within the football department.
Represent the club by consistently modeling the club’s values and behavior
MAIN JOB REQUIREMENTS AND PERSON SPECIFICATION

Education/Qualifications/Training:


Minimum of 2 years’ full-time experience in a performance analysis role within a professional football club.
Minimum 2:1 undergraduate degree in a sports related discipline (e.g., Sports Coaching / Sports Science) or equivalent experience.
Excellent football knowledge, with a strong tactical understand of different playing styles.
Proficiency in using a variety video analysis software's and other relevant tools (Hudl SportsCode, Hudl Studio, SBG Matchtracker, SBG Focus etc).
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
Strong communication skills to effectively convey analysis and recommendations to the coaching staff and players.
Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Passion for football and a genuine interest in continuous learning and improvement.
Excellent communication skills to effectively present your analysis and recommendations to the coaching staff and players, verbally and visually.
Creative in methods of presentation – Ability to use Telestration to highlight key messages.
Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
A clear understanding of the day-to-day Football environment.
A genuine interest in continuous learning and improvement
