It is the duty of Real Salt Lake to forever champion this industrious resolve as the embodiment of these core values.The Assistant Athletic Trainer assists the Head Athletic Trainer in managing the day-to-day sports medicine operations for the Real Monarchs. In this capacity, the Assistant Athletic Trainer provides injury prevention strategies, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation for Players’ medical problems. The Assistant Athletic Trainer works under the direction and supervision of the Head Athletic Trainer and Club Chief Medical Officer. The Assistant Athletic Trainer will assume the duties of the Head Athletic Trainer in the event the Head Athletic Trainer is unable to or at the discretion of the Head Athletic Trainer and/or Club Chief Medical Officer. THIS IS PART-TIME NON-BENEFITED POSITION THAT WILL WORK UP TO 30 HOURS PER WEEK.RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Working in collaboration with the Medical Staff and under the supervision of the CMO:Manages the healthcare of Players including, but not limited to first aid/emergency care, on-site injury evaluation, application of appropriate modalities, development of rehabilitation and prevention programs, as well as conducting rehabilitation and making medical referrals Maintain a complete and up-to-date roster of Player health and participation records in the Club's electronic medical record (EMR) system.Order and maintain inventory supplies and clinical equipment Keep the athletic training room and clinic area safe, clean, and organized.Help the Club Medical Staff regarding the Player’s health and safety Comply with all MLS NEXT Pro medical policies and protocols Comply with OSHA standards with regard to blood borne pathogens Attend all activities/meetings/programs as required by the League Perform other duties as assigned or required MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Minimum of one (1) year of certified athletic trainer/therapist experience.Minimum four (4) year bachelor’s degreeAbility to use a computer to enter numeric data; basic math skillsAbility to follow instructionsDemonstrate initiative and ability to prioritize responsibilities and work well in a fast-paced environmentExcellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.Ability to work evenings and weekends to accommodate the teams’ schedule and eventsLICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: NATABOC (or CATA) Certified Athletic Trainer/TherapistIn good standing with NATABOC State or Province License in the state/province in which the Club calls home, if required by the state/provinceCPR certification for Health Care ProviderMaintain personal professional liability insurance PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Soccer experience preferred Master's degree in a health-related fieldPreferred certification: CSCS, PES, LMT, and/or NREMT, Certified Performance Sport Specialist (CPSS).PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:The job requires regularly lifting/pushing up to 75 pounds and occasionally lifting/pushing more than 100 pounds or exerting heavy force in a wide disparity or environmental conditions.
